Program Overview
Introducing Confidence Lab!
Does your child have a topic, hobby or special interest they love talking about, but sometimes find it harder to feel confident sharing their ideas with others?
Confidence Lab is a supportive and engaging group program where young people can explore something that matters to them, share their knowledge and interests with others, and build confidence in expressing themselves — in a way that feels comfortable for them.
What’s it all about?
Across three sessions, everyone will choose a topic, interest or passion they would like to explore and share with the group.
They might create a PowerPoint or Canva presentation, design a poster, use pictures or cue cards, give a demonstration, or find another way to share that works for them.
Along the way, the group will focus on building confidence, communication and connection with others.
Throughout the program, they’ll:
- Explore a topic or interest that is meaningful to them
- Build confidence in sharing their ideas and knowledge
- Find ways to communicate that suit their individual strengths
- Practise listening and showing interest when others are sharing
- Ask questions and learn more about other people’s interests
- Practise recognising and appreciating different perspectives
- Give and receive respectful, strengths-based feedback
- Reflect on their confidence and recognise their progress
