Program Overview

Funded by Central Mallee Health and open to all Sea Lake educators, Perri will lead staff through an interactive workshop on supporting students with additional needs including understanding neurodiversity. Teachers and aides are welcome to bring along real life examples to explore together to make the most out of the hour.

About Presenter

Perri Ashton

Ages: 7  – 25 years old

Perri is a registered educational and developmental psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a range of different contexts, such as schools (primary, secondary and specialist), private practice and home support. Perri enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and holistic support to her clients.

Perri works with clients and families using a person-centred and strength-based approach to therapy. Perri has a particular interest in anxiety, autism, ADHD, and trauma. Perri is experienced using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Therapy, Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed care, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and mindfulness to support clients with adaptive, emotional, social, and academic goals. She has experience in providing counselling services and specialised consultation with schools in primary and secondary settings, as well as delivering professional development sessions for educators. Perri conducts cognitive, educational, behavioural, and developmental assessments.

Perri is passionate about neurodiversity and inclusivity. Perri aims to nourish client strengths and skills and provides a warm and safe space for clients to achieve their individual therapeutic goals.
