These monthly hangout sessions are suitable for high school students. “The Hangout” is a monthly social group for teens, teens come along to monthly casual dinners where they interact with their peers in real life settings. Settings rotate between local restaurants and the clinic depending on the teens choice.
This group was named by our teens and our teens are involved in setting the agenda for the program. “The Hangout” is one of our most popular programs.
Our November session will take place at Cravin Crepes, Niddrie

About Presenter

Sara Tran
Sara is a registered psychologist with a Masters of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) from Australian Catholic University. She enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan and is committed to working collaboratively with parents/caregivers and educational staff. In particular, she has a strong interest in working with individuals with differing abilities including Autism.
Sara has a passion for supporting the integration and inclusion of individuals of all abilities through personalised, tailored approaches. She believes in preparing young people to be life-long learners and enabling them to develop skills to succeed in all areas of their lives. Sara’s approach endorses a strong emphasis on person-centred, strength-based approaches, while incorporating components of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness to empower individuals though a collaborative process.
Sara has experience in providing psychological services, facilitating group programs and conducting comprehensive psycho-educational assessments including learning, cognitive, social/ emotional needs and aiding the diagnosis of children, young people and families undergoing assessment for Autism.

Molly Young
Molly is a provisionally registered psychologist, who has completed her Master of Professional Psychology and is undertaking her sixth year in supervised practice.
Molly provides person-centred and family supported therapeutic intervention and works with clients to achieve their individual goals. She is passionate about supporting young people to thrive in their individual, social and educational environments and understand their own mental health and wellbeing. She also has a keen interest in providing support to parents and other family members who are seeking assistance in their support of their young person.
Molly incorporates aspects of evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a strong strengths-based approach in order to support her clients to develop resilience and self-compassion. She also administers cognitive assessments.
Molly is an empathetic and nurturing practitioner. She appreciates working holistically with clients and their support networks, such as family, schools and other health professionals, to promote understanding and implement support. She also understands the need to be creative and fun in sessions, while working together to empower individuals to create changes based on their personal therapeutic goals.
