Carmen is a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology student currently her my final year, having completed her first placement in a high school wellbeing setting. During this placement and throughout Carmen’s early career, she gained experience supporting adolescents through individual counselling, psychological assessment and group-based intervention. Carmen’s practice is guided by evidence-based and neuro-affirming approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment-informed practice, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Carmen has a particular interest in supporting young people across multiple presentations, having worked with Selective Mutism and anxiety presentation as well as learning difficulties, neurodivergent presentations and broader social-emotional wellbeing needs. Carmen values creating a safe, respectful and collaborative therapeutic space where students feel understood, supported and empowered to recognise their strengths and needs.

In her free time, Carmen loves to walk her dog, go to lunch with friends, read books and do anything involving arts and crafts, especially painting.
