Ages: Across the lifespan
James is a registered psychologist and clinical registrar. He works in a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative way, creating a space where young people feel listened to and taken seriously, and where families feel supported in understanding their child’s experiences and needs.
He has experience in community, educational, and hospital settings, supporting clients with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, low mood, adjustment to change, grief, identity exploration, and situations where managing emotions or safety can be challenging. James has particular experience working with neurodivergent young people, using individualised, strengths-based approaches that recognise each person’s unique qualities.
James also conducts neurodivergence, cognitive, and educational assessments, working with clients, families, and schools to understand learning and developmental needs and identify practical ways to support young people in daily life. He draws on well-established therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy, collaborating thoughtfully with clients, caregivers, schools, and other professionals.
