Madelaine Southall

Maddie is a registered psychologist who completed a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Australian Catholic University. With a background in supporting children and adolescents experiencing a range of behavioural, social, and emotional challenges, Maddie brings an empathetic and passionate approach in her practice. Maddie also has experience working with neurodiverse children, inclusive of Autism and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and embraces client advocacy and neuroaffirming practice. Maddie has a strong interest in supporting clients with anxiety, social challenges, trauma, behaviour management, and emotional regulation.

In incorporating evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Maddie aims to ensure her clients receive support backed by research and facilitated with an individualised approach. In her practice, Maddie aims to also collaborate with clients and their families following a strength-based framework to support client wellbeing and potential for growth. Madelaine is also trained in administering cognitive, academic and Autism assessments to children and adolescents.

Maddie follows an enthusiastic approach to working with her clients and values bringing fun, engagement, and play to sessions, whilst focusing on tailored intervention based off client goals. In her spare time, Maddie enjoys exploring the Melbourne food scene, travelling, and giving lots of attention to her pet cat.
